Referrals are the golden eggs of relationship building. To be instantly credible and go straight to serving your new future client and not have to sell them!<\/p>\n<p>Yet, that&#8217;s exactly what happened to me a few weeks back when I gave a referral to a local professional.<\/p>\n<p>It took this person literally a week to reach out to my friend to then say he was too busy and would get back to him even later! If business is really that good or you&#8217;re too busy to respond immediately, at least find a way to let the prospect know you&#8217;re not putting them off but it could be a while before you get back to them.<\/p>\n<p>By not responding at all or extremely late you are not only sending the wrong signal to the prospect but you are diminishing the nominator and the value of his\/her referral.<\/p>\n<p>As they say it takes months to gain a client and seconds to lose one.
