The truth is that we all are in sales. Whether it’s selling your team on a new approach, interacting with clients or even getting a date, you rely on sales tools everyday.
Although the word “sales” gets a bad reputation, it actually a very common and critical everyday function to achieving an objective or desire.
Seasoned sales professionals will tell you that you sell three things in a very specific order:
- Yourself
- The Need for Your Product or Service
- Your Company
..and selling yourself is actually something you do everyday when communicating to friends, family, associates and customers.
Getting someone to like you for you and learning about them in the process and listening to them is called a building a relationship. It’s no different in business. In fact, it’s unfortunately overlooked and at a loss to the company.
Remember, given everything else being equal in product, price and service, people will buy from people they know, like and trust.
The bottom line is that Finding Your Inner Salesperson begins with tapping into what you already do on a daily basis. Build relationships first, the business will follow!
